Photographic Portfolio

Photographic style & interest.

Portfolio Info

MJs photographic style has been described as capturing hidden worlds. Her style and interests changed and developed throughout her years of study. She began with a natural focus on the complexities of shape, texture, contrast light, and shadow. Often photographing abandoned or worn down buildings.

During her first few years of university, she often photographed landscapes which soon developed into an interest in photographing and capturing the essence of rural landscapes. This interest in rural landscapes soon turned into an interest in rural New Zealand communities, which is her prime photographic focus and interest today. She aims to use her creative skills to promote rural communities and bring to light the issues rural New Zealand communities are facing today.
