'Take a Moment: a memory of 2020'
University Honours Major Project.
The Photo-documentary book Take a Moment: A memory of 2020 examines and reflects on various challenges young New Zealander’s have faced in the year 2020. Through photographic observations of various; places, spaces, and people, in Northland and Wellington, the audience is introduced to the world in which the photographer Mary-Jane lives. Stories and conversations from a range of young voices across New Zealand are included, to showcase the variety of challenges and situations the young people around Mary-Jane have faced this year. The ethnographic investigation is set within the timestamp of the year 2020 and its unique content will bring remembrance to this year and its effects on young New Zealander’s as it was happening.

Backyard Photobook Launch!
Celebrating the creation of my Honours Project.
To celebrate the creation and completion of her Honours Major Project 'Take a Moment: a memory of 2020 MJ held a Backyard Photobook Launch. The Launch was held at her flat in Newtown, Wellington on a Friday afternoon where friends and fellow photographers enjoyed the launch with some kai and drinks in the sunshine.

In November 2021 MJ had her book 'Take a Moment: A memory of 2020' feature in Photospaces Gallery's 'Young Artists 2021, Response to 2020' exhibition held in central Wellington.
